Hershey Park, If Only They Had Been Open

I have posted four B&W images of Hershey Park's coaster, The Lightning Racer to my Flickr site. This was the first time that Jenne and I went to Hershey, PA and didn't go into the park and ride the rides. The reason being is that they are closed. Well, Chocolate World is open and we did go there - technically inside the park - but we still didn't ride anything. Had the park been open we would have spent our wedding anniversay weekend in the park and on the rides, and The Lightning Racer is one of our favorites. It's a classic wooden design with good drops and air times. The fact that two trains run at once and race to the finsih line adds to the fun of this ride. These photos were all taken from the street that borders the east edge of the park. This is an angle that I've never seen in the past and one that you can not get from inside the park. Just across that street are single family homes that I would most definitely NOT want to live in. The homes are not more than one hundred feet away from the this coaster and other rides. Imagine trying to live with the noise seven days a week from 9:00 AM until 10:30 PM. Jenne and I love theme parks, but not so much as to want to live across th street from one.

We do look forward to going back to Hershey this summer and spending a day inside the park.

Happy 15th!

Donna and I will be riding the Lightning Racer in 10 days (4/8) - I'll wave as I go by.

Hey Will,
My girlfriend and I went on a photo trip to Ellicott City and we found your photos on Flickr inspirational. My girlfriend is taking a black and white photography course at the University of MD and I have been doing photography since high school. Through your flickr photos I found a link to your blog and have added it to my feedreader. I just wanted to say thanks for posting the pictures and keeping your blog updated. It hasn't gone unnoticed.
