ComCRAP has finally been flushed. As soon the installer from Verizon walked out the door, I picked up the phone, dialed ComCRAP and cancelled our Internet and TV. The young lady asked when I wanted that to be effective and I replied, “Immediately please.” There were no questions as to why we were leaving. She saw our recent account history and advised me that we would be getting a sizable credit that would date back to January 7th, 2007. That is the date when the saga began. All that is left for me to do concerning them is to drop off the equipment at their billing center in Elkridge, MD. It’s about 15 minutes away from home.
The Verizon installer arrived right on time at 8:30 AM. He was very polite, professional and knowledgeable. After a brief introduction in which I offered him coffee, tea or juice – he declined - he went right to work in the front yard. He ran the new fiber optic line from the underground connection right up to the front of our house and ran it through the existing ComCRAP hole. Huh, huh, huh, I said CRAP HOLE huh, huh, huh. He then put surgical covers over his boots and worked inside. Nice of him to cover his boots like that. Working with the exisitng coax in the house he put all new connections and splitters and tested signal strength at each connection along the way, which was, as he described it, “Very hot!” This proves that it is indeed the outside underground coax cable that needed replacement. The same cable that ComCrap said they would replace back in January and that they gave me the run-a-around over. Funny thing is that Miss Utility just came out on Monday (yesterday, the day after Verizon) and marked up the ground so Comcrap can replace the coax. I expect that they will show up anyday now to do just that. TOO FRACKING LATE, ASS CLOWNS! The Verizon tech connected and tested both of the televisions, all of the channels and all the functions of the boxes and remotes. Everything checked out A-OK. Better than A-OK actually. It took him from 8:45 AM until 5:15 PM to complete the job and he did a great job. We have been enjoying the strongest and clearest TV signal we have ever in our home and my Internet connection is hitting 14,000+ Kbps on the download and to 2000+ kbps on the upload. My connection to World of Warcraft has gone from 300-900ms down to 9-15ms. That is the best and most consistent connection ever to WoW. I have nothing but good things to say about Verizon FiOS.
