Well, the SciFi Channel has decided, in its infinite wisdom, to move Battlestar Galactica to a new day come the winter season. Sunday nights at 9:00 PM. WHAT THE FRACK! The SciFi Channel has fewer good shows that I have fingers on one hand and they screw with them. Change times, then change days. That's one recipe to kill a show. To say that I find this move upsetting and fracking stupid is an understatement. Friday nights is a great night for the hot show that is BSG. It's a great night for the weekly BSG party. Having BSG on Friday night adds that extra bit of niceness to the end of the work week. It makes Fridays all that more important. Showing BSG on Sunday night means that I can't stay up late afterwards with friends discussing the episode and what we think is coming next week. Sunday night is a night to come down and prepare for the new week/school-week ahead. It is not a night to get the adreline pumping with the pre and post excitement that is a new episode.
This isn't rumor. I have checked it out on a numner of web sites - being extremely careful to avoid spoilers of course - and post but one of the articles here.

'Battlestar Galactica' moves to Sundays
"Battlestar Galactica" will move to Sundays starting Jan. 21, Sci Fi confirmed Monday. In the Central time zone, the show will air at 9 p.m.
The new time and day will kick off the second half of "Battlestar's" critically acclaimed third season.
The second half of the season, by the way, will be preceded by the debut of a new Sci Fi series, "The Dresden Files."
No new episode of "Battlestar" airs this Friday, Nov. 24. But new episodes of "Battlestar" will air Dec. 1, Dec. 8 (that's the episode written by Jane Espenson) and Dec. 15, then the series will take one-month break until Jan. 21.
Watch this space later in the week for more on on the Dec. 1 episode, "Unfinished Business," by Michael Taylor. It's powerful and heartbreaking.

So what do we fans of Battlestar Galactica need to do to convince the SciFi Channel to keep BSG on Friday nights? A letter writing, email and phone call campaign.

Dear SciFi Channel,
I am going to get write to the point. I am extremely upset that you are moving Battlestar Galactica to Sunday nights. Friday nights is a wonderful night for this for many reasons.
It's the end of the work week and a great night to gather with friends to watch the new episodes and stay up afterwards discussing it.
It adds something extra special to the end of the work week and gives us something extra to look forward too.
My friends and I have been getting together on Friday nights now since BSG started. We have our weekly Friday night BSG party and we don't want to loose that. We're all adults and we all have Monday through Friday jobs that require us to get up very early. We're loosing our BSG parties because of this move.
Do you also realize that you are putting BSG up against FOX's "Family Guy"? Most of us don't watch "Family Guy", but there are a few that do and that show - although I don't understand why - has a HUGE following. You want to kill BSG? Go ahead and put it up against FOX's Sunday night line up. From what I have read you have only considered what's on ABC, CBS and NBC.
The long and short of it is this, we LOVE BSG and want it to stay on Friday nights. Please reconsider this move and keep BSG on Fridays!
Sincerely,
--Will Burnham

PLEASE Write to feedback@scifi.com and express your desire to see BSG remain on Friday nights. PLEASE tell your friends and other fans to write to feedback@scifi.com and have them do the same. I am trying to find other contact information and names of people to contact. When I find that information I will post it in the comments and new entries. Please join in the campaign to keep BSG on Friday nights.

Posted by: Will Burnham on November 25, 2006 04:25 PMCould be worse, they could have moved it to Sunday night AND over to NBC.
Posted by: SteveK on November 25, 2006 10:02 PMActually, it will air on Sundays at 9PM is central time. That said, the season finale is on Dec 15, according to the SCIFI.com site, so the Sunday schedule will be re-runs.
