The Bat
He is my all time favorite super hero. Why? Because he is a mortal man who was not gifted with innate powers, blessed by the ghods, iradiated, nuked, or experimented on. He studied, worked hard, trained hard and applied himself to become the Batman. Yeah, he is Bruce Wayne, millioiare, he owns a mansion and a yacht. Another reason that I am so into Batman... he has kicked Superman's ass on several occassions and Superman is a dick. It's true. As a kid I really was into the campy Batman. Do you remember Cesar Romero as the Joker, Burgess Meredith as the Penguin and Vincent Price as Egg Head? Eggsellent! And Adam West & Burt Ward as the dynamic duo! As a teen and an adult I enjoy the comics. I firmly believe that there is but one, AND ONLY ONE, Batman movie and that is Batman Returns. I have dressed up as Batman and stood in front of a comic book store and waved at passing cars and posed for photos with kids on the street. I am batty for Batman.
I made the image at the right earlier this evening. I used a 7" tall figure of the Batman, from the comic (It's a GRAPHIC NOVEL, JOEL), The Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale.
I purposely shot this image so that the focal point is the famous logo. It's the image of the bat that is the first thing that the villains focus their attention on. The rest of the figure is blurry to evoke a sense of the blurred lines between Bruce Wayne and Batman, the man and the myth.
I used my Nikon D70 with a Nikon 60mm f2.8macro lens
