South of the Stress Line

South of the Stress Line

That's where I am lately. That's where I have been for the past couple of months and it feels good. My job continues to go very well. I have been recognized at work for my excellent documentation and writing skills and my raport with the customers. My commute is a breeze and not once have I seen an accident or been stuck in traffic. The longest I have sat still on my commute if for this four-minute long traffic light that seven out of ten times I catch green! My home and personal life is going well and I am even reading again. Right now I am reading a book that Jenne gave me about C. S. Lewis, and a book written by C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity. That book has brought me to a level of understanding and comfort that I never achieved before with my faith and I am thankful for it. Lewis really makes sense and clicks with me. I love being stress free.

Let me give you a very clear example of how stress free I am and wish to remain. Two Wednesdays ago I called Penn Camera to find out what the status was of my D70 repair. The gentleman on the phone informed me that my camera was finished, that the repair cost just a little over $200 and not the $300+ quoted and that it would be back in the Laurel, MD store by Thursday August 31st. However, he said that I could come down to the Vienna, VA location and pick it up as early as Friday the 22nd. I thanked him for the kind offer, but declined. I would end up north of the stress line if I drove south of the Potomac River and into Northern, Virginia. I wanted my camera back, but not at the risk of going into that part of NoVA again. I waited this long, another week wouldn't kill me, but NoVA might. It's south of the stress line for me.

PS, clicking on the photo at right will take you to my Flickr photo stream, where you can see the last of our 2006 Ocracoke vacation photos.

Good to see you posting gain. We are south of the stress line six months out of the year. Unfortunately during hurricane season we are at the stress line equator.

So glad you're having such a consistently stress-free life! That's a big reward especially after that slj we were both at just a couple of short years ago! Things are pretty consistently stress-free around here and at our jobs, too. You (well, anyone actually!) really deserved a better commute than NoVa, glad for you on that note, too.
