Tea and I went to lunch at the local Pho place today. Umm, umm Pho. When she came to my desk to get me, I noticed she wasn't wearing a coat, or a jacket.
"So, it looks like I don't need a coat," I said.
"Not even a jacket," she replied. And she was right. We walked outside and it was warm out, really warm out, 'spring time for Hitler' warm out! Sixty-something degrees warm. I am not complaining about warm weather, no sirrie-bob, but this is winter, right? My calendar says it's winter. I remember the winters of my childhood, youth and up through my late thirties as being long, cold affairs with much ice and snow. The groundhog - somebody pop a cap in his head and stop him, pluh-eeze! - said we're going to have a long winter too. And didn't we just have a really big snow storm like four and a half days ago? I know we did. I can still see the remnants of it as it melts away. Oh, and I hear there's suppossed to be another 'snow event' come next Monday and/or Tuesday. I have taken to carrying a winter coat, a spring jacket, gloves and an umbrella with me at all times. When the weather changes every few hours I think it's the only logical thing to do.
That's one thing about Maryland... Don't like the weather? Wait 5 minutes.

Posted by: Clark on February 17, 2006 08:15 AMHey, I thought Mark Twain said that wait five minutes thing about KANSAS, where we are freezing our little butts off in single digits with below freezing wind chills. On the bright side, we're only paying $2.07 per gallon of gasoline and propane is under $1.40...
