20" of Snow in Ellicott City / Columbia, MD!

That's right folks, this predicted 6"-10"snow storm turned into a 20-incher, and Jenne wanted to get right out there with the neighbors with shovel in hand! Me, I wanted to stay in, drink coffee and eat cereal. She sort of had to drag me outside. Click on Jenne's pic to see the other eleven photos from this morning's dig-out. There aren't any "before the dig out" photos because I was snug in bed until 9:30 AM and by that time our neighbors had been hard at work for at least an hour. OVER ACHIEVERS!

It's obvious that we can't get far from the house and driving is out of the question. Our parking area and street aren't even plowed! That may change if the neighbors decide that they just can't wait and get out their shovels again and "plow" it theirselves. You laugh, but that's EXACTLY what they did a few years ago. Talk about some serious type A's. Me, I am perfectly willing to wait for the county to do it. It's their job, not mine.

This is a waste of a great snow storm. This really needed to happen Sunday into Monday, so we'd have the day off from work. They'll have this all cleaned up in time for all of us to drag our butts to the office Monday AM, but the kids will still get the day off. Mother fracker! Damnit! ARGH! What a waste of a big snow storm.

So, how much snow fell where you live? Do you have a web site with photos?

Tell BDTH in the comments!

Inquiring minds want to know.

We got about 10 inches in Centreville, VA...but it all melted off the roads by this evening so I'm not sure even the kids will get a break from this one! I ran out this morning took my snow photos because I was afraid the winter wonderland would disappear pretty fast. You can find my pix at http://www.flickr.com/photos/uber-pea/

Considering I'm a half-hour away, we got around 18". Our streets finally get plowed now (1 lane), but that meant a three and a half foot snow bank 4' behind the car. As opposed to a series of ruts cut in by the local 4wd vehicles and being snowed in for days like before.

I can't tell you how many cubic yards of snow I shoveled yesterday, all by myself. Just glad Mom got some neighborhood kids to clear her out yesterday. I'm getting too old to be doing this kind of work for 2 houses.

As far as I'm concerned, God put it there, God can take it away.
