I can hear some of you saying right now, "who in the frack is Bill Duke and why should we care?" Understandable. Bill Duke's biggest fan base is the four guys I used to work with way back in the mid 1980s at Leon Podolak & Associates Surveyors & Civil Engineers. Buck, Dave, Steve K. and Jeff Stoner. Mention Bill Duke to any of these guys and you illicit a response of (soft whisper) "hey... over here." and "Don'worry. We won't." Now if you know what two films those lines are from you are a super huge action film geek. Well Bill Duke is a guest star in tonight's new episode of Battlestar Galactica. Given the types of characters he's played in movies and TV shows - bad guys, heavy muscle, enforcer, and similar - I can only speculate that he will play more of the same. Is he muscle for Tom Zarek? Is he running a crime ring in the fleet (seriously, what's to steal)? Is he another Cyon model? Umm, I doubt that very much. Whatever the role, I am reasonably sure that he's a bad guy and that he stands a good chance of being dead sometime in the last fifteen minutes. If you really want to know more about Bill Duke go here.
In other news, I popped over to Ron Moore's (all bow) blog today and saw that he answered two fan questions. Here's the questions.
1. "Are the Centurions sentient? If so, does their memory get uploaded to a new body when they die?"
2. "Why does every one call the officers Sir even if they are women? I was in the military but I thought that every one knows to call female officers or presidents Mam."
For the answers visit Ron Moore's (all bow) blog by clicking here.
Or as Radar O'Reilly once said to Maj. Hoolihan "Yes sir! Ma'am, sir."
I seriously feel a fan pan of tonight's episode coming...

Yeah, it was middle of the road. Lots of character development with Lee Adama though. I always like to see character development. Bill Duke could have talked a little louder and a little clearer. did he have cotton in his mouth? I couldn't understand half of what he said and we had the volume up! is Bill Duke always sweating? Everything I see him in he is covered in perspiration. I did enjoy seeing what was going on in the fleet at large. Supply problems, living conditions, crowded conditions, crime, prostitution, etc. Nice of them to address those issues. The big surprise to me was Commander Fisk being murdered.
