Battlestar Friday SUPER HAPPY FUN TIME SPECULATION ISSUE 01.13.06

Part II of the BSG episode, Resurrection Ship airs tonight at 10:00 PM on the SciFi Channel. Speculation is high concerning what will happen and I have some educated guesses of my own. This is only speculation, as I do not read spoilers. Hell, I don't even watch the scenes for upcoming episodes, nor do I watch the montage at the beginning of each episode until after I have seen the episode. If you feel that my speculation could ruin your viewing experience, then please do not read any farther until after you watch tonight's ep. Otherwise read on and feel free to contribute to the rampant speculation. Be assured that it's never my objective to ruin your viewing experience, unlike some assclowns out there who have to know everything ahead of time and then ruin it for others by being blabber mouths! So say we all!

Here's what I think will happen and I've covered a lot of bases.

· We’ll see a space battle. We better see something of a space battle. PLEASE, let there be a space battle.
· In the space battle with the Cylon fleet the Battlestar Pegasus will be hammered and likely crippled. This ship won’t be around forever and if Moore does it close to the original, the Pegasus will go down in a blaze of glory.
· The Cylons will loose the fight and withdrawal from the region to regroup and reinforce. During that time, Pegasus will ironically be stripped for parts and supplies.
· Admiral Cain’s XO, Frisk, will hand pick marines that are totally loyal and faithful to HIM and not to the Admiral. Me thinks he’s had enough of the insanity and that he’s also looking for a promotion to Commander of Pegasus.
· Adama will sense that Frisk has been sent to Galactica with marines to eliminate the Galactica’s command and effect a “regime change”. Frisk and his marines end up in Galactica’s brig.
· Admiral Cain will be killed in one of the following ways and none of them have Captain Kara “Starbuck” Thrace doing the dirty deed.
o One of her own bridge crew finally has enough of Cain’s insanity and pops a cap in her natty head!
o A marine picked by Frisk will be left on board Pegasus and when he hears Cain say “Case Orange”, he will pop a cap in her natty head!
o Cain will be killed by the version of the Cylon Six, known as Gina, who has been an abused prisoner aboard Pegasus. How does this happen? She’ll pop a cap in her natty head! How does she get a gun? Maybe Baltar provides it.
· Chief Tyrol and Helo will avoid the death sentence because Admiral Cain has had a cap popped in her natty head and Adama is now DA MAN IN CHARGE! They will get some sort of reaming out and maybe put on probation. This will generate strife between the survivors of the Pegasus crew and Galactica. Just what we need, more tension.
· In the wreckage of the Resurrection Ship a way will be found to put President Roslin’s terminal cancer into remission or to slow it’s progress to a crawl.

We’ll have to wait and see. Personally, I think the writers will surprise us all yet again and nothing will happen in the way I think it will. So say we all!

I don't think Admiral Cain will die or be killed off. This doesn't support the rumors of a possible Pegasus spinoff. Something may happen wherein the Pegasus gets separated from the Galactica and loses her way. Ergo: a spinoff.

One hit out of all the speculation (no major spoilers here, so I won't reveal which guess was spot-on). That particular aspect turned out pretty much how I expected. Any of the other outcomes of that situation would have compromised certain charaters fatally.

I wanna know how two abused battlestars took on two basestars, though. I mean - 'cmon.

Both Pegasus and Galactica were in good shape. Pegasus was combat ready thanks to Cain stripping civilian ships, and the Galactica has avoided combat for quite a while, giving her crew plenty of time to make any repairs and bring her to combat readiness. Plus, the basestars were without their CAP of Raiders, which if you recall from the previous episode, was drawn off by a decoy set up by Starbuck It was in her combat plans. Did you miss the meeting, or didn't you get the memo?

I enjoyed this episode, but found it didn't have the punch of part one. Things that weren't wrapped up tonight will be over the next several episodes.

So say we all.

Ah - right. I wasn't taking notes like a good boy last week. But going from past experience, don't the basestars carry an assload of nukes?

They do carry nukes, but nukes can be shot down and Battlestars put out a crap load of flack and the Colonials had Viper and Raptor support.
