Yes, this is indeed an R2D2 cup. It is from the Taco Bell/KFC/Pizza the Hutt Star Wars Special Edition promotion in 1999. Since acquiring this cup in 1999 it has occupied the R2D2 shelf in my vast Star Wars memorabilia collection. The cup now occupies the dash-board cup holder of Red 5, my Star Wars X-Wing fighter themed 2005 MINI Cooper. He holds 32 ounces of my beverage of choice... Diet Coke, which is easily accessible via a 15" straw that sticks out of the back of Artoo's domed head.

Very cool- your car has a real droid socket. Does this mean the plushie R2 with the brake handle phallus has been retired? I think the R2 cup is better.

Don't bother Brian- that is the cheap, POS Rubies vinyl helmet. Will is going to have a much better, more accurate helmet soon.
