ROLL ON YOU CRAZY KATAMARI! ROLL!

I must roll the Katamari! It is my destiny!

Friday evening my friend, Steve-o gets me hooked on the latest crack... for console gamers that is. Most of late Saturday afternoon and evening have been spent playing Katamari Damacy. I CAN'T STOP! I must continue to roll my Katamari, which in Japanese means 'clump,' and hum along with the game music, and collect stuff in my effort to fulfill the wishes of THE KING OF ALL COSMOS!

I think the Japanese reads, "I am the King of all Cosmos and boy do I have a package!"

Come and join the Prince of all Cosmos and his cousins on the magical space mushroom. It's blisssssss.

This is my latest console game obsession! CURSE YOU STEVE-O! You see his royal highness, in a drunken stupor wipes all of the stars out of the sky. He has sent me, his son, the Prince of all Cosmos (that's the little green guy in the lower right of the screen shots) to Earth with a Katamari (it's a kind of sticky ball), which I roll around and over stuff making my clump bigger and bigger and bigger. The bigger the clump gets the bigger the stuff I can pick up. It starts small with little stuff like thumb tacks, dice and cookies. As the clump grows in size you can add bigger and bigger stuff. Right now I can pick up dogs, cats, people, cars and trees! What do I do with these clumps? Well the King of all Cosmos and I shoot them into space to create new stars and restore the constellations of course. No, I am not smoking weed, but the designers of this highly addicting game were puffing on some seriously good shit! The games from Japan are the craziest, whackiest and most "out there" sureal games ever. The music, the sound effects and the simple game play (you just use the two analog sticks, no buttons) all make for a really fun and addicting game experience. Most of the fun is in adding stuff to your Katamari and your collection! The game keeps a track of all of the individual items you collect. The missions are generally a race against time to make a katamari of a specified size determined by the king. Sometimes you have to collect 100 of a specific item (IE crabs to make the constellation Cancer) and you still have to build up the size of your clump because the items (IE the crabs) get bigger and in order to pick up bigger items you need a bigger clump. I know, it sounds pretty crazy and it is. Now if you'll excuse me the King of all Cosmos summons me to make more clumps! Roll on you crazy katamari! ROLL!
