Sunrise Over Ellicott City

SunRiseOverEC.jpg

"I stood upon the hills, when heaven's wide arch
Was glorious with the sun's returning march,
And woods were brightened, and soft gales
Went forth to kiss the sun-clad vales."

-- From the poem Sunrise on the Hills by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

As I left for work this morning this was the sunrise that greeted me. I made this photograph from the driver's seat of Red 5.

A beautiful reminder that a new day is filled with hope and possibility - I love the ways the rays reach out, almost like fingers stretching for the sky. You are fortunate to have such a lovely ride to work!
