Battlestar Tuesday ~ 09.20.05

Today is the day boys and girls that the Battlestar Galactica Season One DVD boxed set goes on sale. I have been told by Malnurtured Snay - a fellow blogger and BSG fan - that Target will have the best price at $38.99. I am glad that I forgot to preorder it from Amazon who has it for $41.95 and shipping). The boxed set released today contains everything the Best Buy edition does – all 13 season one episodes, the deleted scenes, even the European main titles – PLUS a bunch of documentaries, sketches, art, the complete three+ hour miniseries, Producer Ron Moore’s commentaries on the mini, and his commentaries on nine regular episodes. Frak Best Buy! Guess who's stopping at Target today? So say we all.

And as a special bonus to this special Battlestar edition here is an image of the Mercury Class Battlestar, PEGASUS. Thanks to MM for finding this. Click the link below to see the "Spoiler" image. You have been warned.

According to their web-catalog, they raised the price to $41.99 -- which is still the cheapest price around. It was a few bucks lower a few weeks ago.

I stopped at a BJs and two Target stores last night on the way home and NADDA, NOTHING, ZIP! None of the stores had it, and it wasn't listed in their computer systems or inventory sheets! FRAK!

My Costco has them (watched the first disc yesterday afternoon! wheeee!) Do you want me to go get you one? :)

AS I was out of the US for most of the summer and missed episodes, this is helping to ease the pain. Of course, my question is: when will the SciFi channel rerun the season 2 episodes in order?

I haven't been so excited about television since Bab5.

Sara,

Wish you'd left an e-mail ... the last episode of the first half of the second season airs tonight, which means they should start repeating the second season next Friday. Of course, its always possible they'll do one of those marathons and repeat all ten back to back before the second half of the season kicks off in January.

Will,

Any luck with the DVDs? I noticed they weren't at my local Target, either. At this point, I'd bite the bullet and go to Best Buy.
