Bilbo Baggins' Pub

FriendlyService.jpg
Friendly Service is a Hobbit, our waiter & bartender can be seen at left.
Saturday a week ago I traveled down to Old Town Alexandria to visit with friends, Larry and the ever lovely Anne. We took a nice stroll around Old Town and stopped in at Bilbo Baggins' Pub at 208 Queen Street where Larry introduced me to Danish beers. Ummmmmm beer aarrrrhhhh. Surprisingly there is nothing on the menu named after anything from Lord of the Rings. I was expecting Sauron Soup, Saruman Steak, Bilbo Burger w/ a side of Frodo Fries and of course, The One Onion Ring! Oh well. The atmosphere was nice, the service great and friendly and there is a wall mural on the second floor. Let me just say that a fine afternoon was had by all, and on the way down and back I took a nice relaxing drive on the george Washington Parkway. Thanks again L&A for the fine hospitality!

You are quite welcome, Anne and I always enjoy having your company. And now that you are the proud owner of a Mini, maybe you'll be more inclined to make the trip to Old Town!

Incidentally, we had the Belgian beer Chimay Cinq Cents while at Bilbo. Gotta love those beers from Belgium!

I must have been thinking that the beer we had would go good with a danish! Je suis bête!!

Any chance I get to motor in the MINI!!!

The One Onion Ring is a missed opportunity, methinks.

If you're interested in Belgium beers, you need to check out the premier source of Belgiums in the U.S. Monk's Cafe in Philly.
