Then it happens

TreeBlossoms.jpg
I’m not responsible for my photographs. Photography is not documentary, but intuition, a poetic experience.
It’s drowing yourself, dissolving yourself, and then sniff, sniff, sniff – being sensitive to coincidence.
You can’t go looking for it; you can’t want it, or you won't get it. First you must lose yourself. Then it happens. -Henri Cartier-Bresson

The above photo was taken about 200 yards from my Reston, VA office. I found a sanctuary not far from where I work. A lake surrounded by trees, flowers and bushes bordered by a path and a few benches. I have been eating my lunches there and letting the photographs happen.

I did no post production Photoshop manipulation to this image. No cropping, no color saturation. All work was done in camera and you see it full frame. I used a circular polarizer and UV filter. A circular polarizer does wonders to blue skies.

And, it's that time of year. Time to get you, me, Donna, and whomever else wants to come out and play together for a photo outing somewhere....

It must be that time of year because I, too, have suddenly gotten the urge to capture the world through a lens! Once you "lose" yourself there is no shortage of what you can find to photograph! Beautiful color and composure.

Love the saturated colors! Reminds me of the results we used to get with Fuji Velvia.
