I’m not responsible for my photographs. Photography is not documentary, but intuition, a poetic experience.
It’s drowing yourself, dissolving yourself, and then sniff, sniff, sniff – being sensitive to coincidence.
You can’t go looking for it; you can’t want it, or you won't get it. First you must lose yourself. Then it happens. -Henri Cartier-Bresson

The above photo was taken about 200 yards from my Reston, VA office. I found a sanctuary not far from where I work. A lake surrounded by trees, flowers and bushes bordered by a path and a few benches. I have been eating my lunches there and letting the photographs happen.
I did no post production Photoshop manipulation to this image. No cropping, no color saturation. All work was done in camera and you see it full frame. I used a circular polarizer and UV filter. A circular polarizer does wonders to blue skies.
And, it's that time of year. Time to get you, me, Donna, and whomever else wants to come out and play together for a photo outing somewhere....
Posted by: Geren on April 17, 2005 09:40 PMIt must be that time of year because I, too, have suddenly gotten the urge to capture the world through a lens! Once you "lose" yourself there is no shortage of what you can find to photograph! Beautiful color and composure.
