No, it has not gotten me fired, but it has gotten some people fired from their jobs. Read about it here at Washington Post Dot Com. You will have to register to read the article, but registration is free and pretty painless. The article is worth reading, especially if you blog and bitch about your employer. I like my current employer and I like the job, so no reason for me to bitch and I have bithced about previous employers. Heck, with all of the bitching I did on this blog about my previous employer - and I have no qualms about telling you it was MTH Electric Trains in Cloumbia, MD, WORST employer EVER! - I am sometimes surprised I didn't get talked to about my site or fired. Not that I would have cared. There are several folks at MTH that do read my site.
Thank goodness for good jobs! I like my job, too, so no need to badmouth it in my blog. Kind of a shame, really - angst makes for some good posting!

Posted by: Clark on February 14, 2005 11:09 AMMy boss is driving me crazy! She's a Capitol B! Constantly yammering at me, "You haven't gotten enough done! Blah, blah, blah!" I can't even complain to H.R.!
Oh- right! I'm self employed! ( somebody please shoot my superego!!)
It's actually quite scary .. I was critical about the company I work (a division of a very large company) for a couple of years ago and it is on the 2nd page of google.
I found that out recently when my stats showed someone comming to my site via google.
Ooops!
Posted by: Stu on February 15, 2005 07:16 AMMy livejournal only turns up on google if you know my username. I friends-locked many work posts, but I don't really discuss anything that would constitute giving up company secrets, and I've never dissed the company as a whole; just several individuals that I worked with/for. I spent all last spring venting about a worthless coworker. Nevertheless, after the wealth of stories about people getting canned for trivial things in their blogs, I deemed it wise to friends-lock most of the rest of my work posts. I do post from work fairly often, and you never know who's tracking. *shrug*
Ha! I bitch about my job constantly but if they fired me, someone else would have to clean the house and cook the meals and take care of the animals and raise the kids so I'll just write any damn thing I please in my blog. Besides, I didn't think slaves could be fired. Only freed or sold. Yes, I'm sure that's it.
