Altar Kneeler at Christ's Church
The afternoon sun of late summer casts shadows through a window frame, across the marble floor and onto an altar kneeler at Historic Christ's Church. The church is located in in Lancaster County, VA on the Northern Neck between the towns of Kilmarnock and White Stone. This is one of over two dozen images I made last year during our trip to see our friend Ted and his family. I made this image they way I did because I like the repeating theme of crosses created by the shadows and how they echo the theme and symbolism of the kneeler. You can see another image I made at Christ's Church by clicking here and also by clicking here.
Very Indiana Jones-ish. Hey, remember the hug parties? Well did you hear what they've come up with now?
Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University recently developed The Hug, which allows one user to squeeze a velour-covered, human-shaped pillow connected to a wireless phone and have that squeeze received by another user on his or her own human-shaped pillow, as if delivered by the sender in person. The pillow will also speak in the sender's voice and warm itself up appropriately.
Have we really become this disconnected? *hugs*
