The Hay Ride
Today was the day of the Burnham Family & Friends Fall Picnic at my parent's place in Manchester, Carroll County, MD. It was a really great day full of fun and Jenne and I got to see many relatives that we rarely see the rest of the year. The turnout this year was huge with close to one hundred adults and children. The hayride is the big event. My father pulls a huge haywagon across the Carroll County countryside for a twelve mile round trip where we wave at people, have a hay battle and sing songs. This year I was challenged in the singing of Old MacDonald had a farm. I was singing and the kids on the ride would yell out the name of an animal that I had to impersonate for the farm. Have you ever heard of a farm with tigers, snakes and kangaroos? Neither had I, but I was able to come up with an appropriate sound for each much to the delight of the kids and the adults. I am going to share the rest of the day with you via photos.

Our niece, Heather takes a ride in the barrel wagon. We call her Heather Bean.

Our nephew, Kevin sits at my feet on the hayride.

Our nephew, Wade loves Spiderman. Here he is running at me wanting to give me a hug.

The son of one of my mom's co-workers picks a pumpkin for the pumpkin painting contest.

The kids sang Happy Birthday to Jenne. She is really stretching out this 50th Birthday of hers ;-)

Is it my brother Tommy or could it be... SATAN! My youngest brother got those glasses off of the Internet and freaked out the kids all day. They called him 'the eyeball man.' Sounds kind of creepy!
Thanks for the hay ride! Tell Jenny to milk it all she can...! Love it.
