That's right, Jenne turned fifty-years young today! Happy Birthday to my loving wife of fourteen years. She is older than I am yet she looks younger! How does she do it?! That is a secret we may never know. For her birthday I took her away to the Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown, WV for the weekend. We left Friday afternoon. On Saturday night eight very good friends joined us at the inn for dinner. Here is our after dinner group photo.

From L to R are Becky and Jeff Stoner, myself, Jenne in the purple outfit, Lynn and Will Pownell behind Jenne, Kim (Clark's wife), Jenne's best friend Michelle and her boyfriend Jessie, and the silly head at the left is Clark Oliver.
We had a fantastic time and we were delighted that they all could join us. Some of our other most excellent friends were unable to attend and we missed them very much. We hope to catch up with them soon over the next couple of weeks.
It was a most excellent weekend for Jenne and I. We had always wanted to stay at the Bavarian Inn and for Jenne's special milestone I made that happen. We had a lovely luxury suite in the
Danube Building (small building to the left) with a balcony overlooking the Potomac River into Maryland. The room also had a gas fireplace, a jacuzzi bath that could have fit four, and a wonderful canopy bed that sat so high off of the floor that we could have used a step ladder to get into it. The room also had this funny little fountain in the bathroom! Yes, I am aware that it is a bidet. It was a source of much humor. Jenne and had been relaxing in the jacuzzi bath for about an hour when Jenne said, "I wonder what the poor people are doing right now?" To which I replied, "He's wondering how he's going to pay for all of this! HAHAHA!" We both had a good chuckle. As I was stepping out of the bath and grabbing one of the super plush towels Jenne said, "Honey, do you think anyone has ever mistaken the bidet for a toilet and peed in it?" All I could do was roll with laughter and reply back, "yeah... probably my dad! Just imagine when he tried to flush it and got a water fountain in the face!" We both a good laugh out of that one at dad's expense. Saturday morning we had a nice country breakfast in Keddysville, MD and then I took Jenne shopping at the Hagerstown, MD outlets. At the Pflatzgraff Outlet she bought a new stoneware dinner service for eight. We had a nice snack in their food court and then headed back to Shepherdstown to meet our friends for dinner. After dinner we headed home and several of our friends joined us. At midnight we called it an evening and headed off to bed. Sunday - Jenne's actual birthday - has been a lazy day of lounging around the house.
Jenne, I hope your birthday weekend was everything you expected and that you had a wonderful time! Happy Birthday and much love to you on this special day honey bunny!
What a group photograph! Now *that's* classic!!

Posted by: Jeff on October 3, 2004 09:02 PMJenne, Happy, happy day. I say we go for double or nothing.
Will, it's no surprise that Jenne looks younger than you. Remember The Picture of Dorian Gray? We women have a unique gift in that we are able to disburse our signs of aging onto the folks around us, usually people who spend an inordinate amount of time annoying us. It's our revenge. Maybe a few more nights at the Bavarian Inn would inspire her to take a few of those years back...
