Wings of Freedom Have Been Plucked

Part of my busy upcoming weekend - apart from Antietam rain or shine and photo work for the gallery show - was to attend the annual Wings of Freedom Airshow in Martinsburg, WV. I just spoke with a gentleman who was on the board for the Wings of Freedom Airshow - which was always held in Frederick, MD - to see what was up with this year's show. I have heard rumors that the show was cancelled. The rumors are true, but not because of the weather. Security concerns, cost of security, a net loss last year and other factors forced them to cancel the show three months ago... permanently, as in forever. My favorite local vintage aircraft airshow is no more. The wings of freedom have been plucked. I took all of these photos and more at that show over the past four years. Some of the photos placed very well in photo contests too. This news seriously bums me out.
