Fare thee well Theme Thursday, and hello and welcome Thursday Challenge. This week's challenge is Sport and the sport I choose totally by chance and by being in the right place at the right time is kayaking. My friend Michael also greatly enjoys river kayaking. My first experience kayaking in 2003 found me rolling over and loosing my sunglasses, but I kept at it for the rest of that weekend. Commuting home on Monday I drove the back roads and crossed over the Patuxent River. Looking out across the river I spied this kayaker. I pulled over onto the shoulder and walked out to the center of the bridge and started taking photos. She didn't mind and as she paddled under the bridge called out to me to say hello. We exchanged brief pleasantries and then she headed off down river and I off to home. Camera; Nikon D70 set to manual with Sigma 45-450mm hyperzoom. I am so loving the new camera.

Dear Blog Forum,
I never thought it could happen to me. I'm from an East Coast college town minding my business one day, when I decided to stand on a bridge and take some photos. Our initial exchange was a simple hello as she paddled in my direction.
I found it difficult to contain my excitement as she neared my position. I could sense a special feeling in the air, as I glanced down to my tripod. The entry says, she headed off down river and I home, but there is a great deal more untold.
Perhaps some of the readers witnessed the event and can add to the story of "Afternoon Delight."
