Bats In Our Bellfry

We don't actually have a bellfry, but anyway, Friend Will - husband of friend Lynn - came down on Monday to perform some work on the front of our townhome. Paint some wood, repair a loose shutter, stuff like that. What he found and was not expecting was - DA NANANANANA BATS MAN! a colony of bats living under the shutter! Of course I was at work in Reston and wasn't home to photograph them. Drat.

I knew it!!! The Hybrid is the Batmobile and you are really Batman! I guess Jenne is Catwoman.
Well, the Joker is next door and holy bat cave,
the Riddler must be Habid! Time to get the f out of this joint. I must report you to the Gotham/Ellicott City authorities for creating a homeless situation for 15 plus bats. You, just like W, have destroyed the young generation by sending them away to a foreign land. I thought you were more compassionate!!!!

Well, now. That explains a lot....

I did think that they would have made an excellent photo. Really, they were like "movie bats" only more up close and hairy.

Seuss' original idea was "Bats in the Hat" but thought it was too scary! : )
