What in the World?
What in the world?
Today will be day three of lying on my back. My bulged disk was creating excruciating pain in my lower back and left leg over the weekend. I couldn't sit in a chair for more than five minutes. I still can't sit for more than 10-15 minutes at a time, so that means no being in a car for an hour to an hour and a half. Hence no commute and hence taking a sick day and staying home to lie on my back for day three. I really don't have a whole lot to write about. There's nothing interesting about taking meds and laying on one's back all weekend except that Lynn & Will came over Saturday night and watched Castle in the Sky with us (thanks for coming over guys). Well in the meantime we can have some fun with the above photo. It's a close up detail of ‘something’ and you get to guess what in the world that 'something' is. Is it...
a) A Funky hat seen in Ellicott City?
b) A festive candleholder from a local shop?
c) An anemone in a tank at a Columbia pet store?
d) A lampshade from a local furniture store?

Posted by: Lynn on August 3, 2004 01:20 PMI did the doctor and physical therapy THANG! We are proceeding with PT and see how that progresses. The doc gave me an anti-inflamatory drug. Just what I need... more pills. The next steps are epidural and/or cortizone shots. If the PT and shots don't work then it's... I don't even want to talk about it. Is the lampshade one of the leather ones? You know if you put too hot of a bulb in one of those things, you get the smell of BBQ'd meat filling up your house. That may or may not be a good thing...
Will, hoping your pain is better. I'm gearing up for mine. It will commence on Aug 25 at 1 pm. Can you say periodontal disease? I haven't had a drink in years but I just may be emailing Rob for that margarita recipe...
