High On MY Hybrid

I want to give you an update on my Honda Civic Hybrid’s performance. I purchased the car on Wednesday May 19th and Jim Coleman Honda was nice enough to give me a full tank of gas. First tank of gas free! SCHWEET! I’m sure some smart ass-hat will tell me that the cost of that tank was worked into the price of the car and hidden, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, whatever. I have now gone through three full tanks of gas and I started my fourth tank last night. So far I have gotten 540 miles per 12 gallon tank of gas and that equals – this is easy math and I like easy math – 45 miles to the gallon. With gas prices what they are that’s nothing to sneeze at and fortunately gas prices in our neighborhood have come down a few cents this week and are back under $2.00. I paid a buck ninety-eight and nine tenths a gallon last night for a total of – more easy math – $24.00. During the work week I drive a crazy eighty-eight miles a day. Five days at eighty-eight miles equals 440 miles. That gives me another hundred miles on one tank. Bottom line is that I fill up my tank once a week. With the Saturn I was filling up every four days. Of course I didn’t have a car payment with the Saturn, but the hybrid is a better vehicle all around. I am high on my hybrid.

Okay, dude. The cost of that tank of gas you got "free" is figured into the price of the car somewhere, and ammortized out over the 4 or 5 years you financed it for.

All right, all right already. We get it. The hybrid's cool. It gets great mileage. You're starting to sound like an Amway salesman or Jehovah's Witness. If you start handing out hybrid brochures at camera meetings, you realize that I will just have to shoot you.

And not with film.

Rob, I laid money down that you'd make the kind of comment you did! HAHA! It's my blog and I'll talk about my hybrid all I want to. And I am giving a very honest and positive review of the vehicle and its benefits to the owner and the environment. By the way, I will continue to talk about my hybrid... so there ;-P

Expect to be teased unmercifully.

Hello Rob, I love that Will loves his hybrid. As a matter of fact, Will has convinced me to have my body converted over to a hybrid fuel system. I now get an estimated 450 steps per ounce of cheese. Do you like cheese Rob? I bet you do!!!
