June Is...

Can you believe it's June already?! I sure can't. Halfway through the year already. I guess that sort of makes June 'hump month' like Wednesday is 'hump day'. Man that sounds dirty doesn't it. Hump month! YEAH BABY! I like the sound of that... GRRRRR!

Okay, officially June is...
... Dairy Month. Got milk baby?
... National Iced Tea Month. Lynn, this month is for you.
... National Rose Month. A month by any other name is still a month.
... National Drive Safe Month. That clearly explains why I got rear ended last month! It wasn't Drive Safe Month. Hello SUV and crazy Capital Beltway drivers! LISTEN UP!
... National Safety Month. So this month everyone is to be safe. No running with scissors until July first okay. I know you like to, but it's National Safety month for crying out loud. Let's make this the best National Safety month ever!
... National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month. Excuse me. Mine's bigger than that. I mean my cucumber. It's bigger.
... Zoo and Aquarium Month. I think I'll watch those old episodes of New Zoo Review!
... National Tennis Month. Time to play with those fuzzy balls. SCHWING!
... National Adopt-A-Cat Month. Time to go get a new pussy... kat. Oh behave!
... Turkey Lovers Month. Gobble, gobble.

Have a great June everyone. Hey, Habid what do you do special in June?

It's also "Best Friends Day" June 7th,
"Senior Citizens Day" June 8th,
and of course "Fathers Day" June 20th.

Plus "Spiderman 2 Day". June 30th

What? That's not a holiday?

I beg to differ...

Hmm, tea, ahh!

I have a cat anybody can adopt. Must go to family without fish. I'm surprised it's not National Wedding month or something. Then July could be National Divorce month...'cause I think August is National Homicide month when people around here all go crazy because of the heat and stab each other....

Finally, concluding today is Nordic Fest 2004 in Dawson Springs, KY. Habid is to beware! http://www.kkkk-net/nf.htm, courtesy of the KKK and ofcourse, asshat, asswipe and assfuck.
I have concluded my sabbatical and look forward to tomorrow, which begins the five month countdown to Election Day. God Bless America!

Interesting to know about these dates. In Britain there is “national bike week” at some point in June. There is also Wimbledon and Glastonbury Festival (music festival).

But to me June is associated with The Feast of St John the Baptist, celebrated in most catholic countries I believe. In June there is also St Anthony (June 13) and St Peter (June 29). But of these festivities, the most colourful is The Feast of St John; bonfires, special food, singing and dancing, dressing up etc – one of my favourite parties. It was originally a pagan celebration (summer solstice) which was christianized.

LOL Will. You are too much =)

What about 'Graduating-from-High-School" month?

Ahem.

Lt. Dan: June is Gay Pride Month everywhere, in honor of the Stonewall Riots in New York City in 1969, not the "bung hole capital SF."

You can educate yourself a little here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonewall_riots

Clearly, there's still a need for this sort of thing.

Thank you Thomas. Yes Lt. Dan, it's pride month even in Kansas. Of course in Kansas all the rainbow flag waving just makes it easier for the rednecks to sight us down the barrels of their Mossbergs....
