As of today it's been one year and 3000 plus images since I purchased my Minolta Dimage 7i. Now not all of those images are for my site and some of them aren't useable (focus or exposure issues). There are family photos, cat pics, party photos, still life, floral, macro, landscapes, Civil War, and toys to name a few. There are photos for insurance purposes, and there are multiple images of the same subject with each frame having a minor adjustment to some setting or another. All in all I've had a great time with my Dimage 7i and I have never once regreted buying it. Digital has allowed me to shoot like I have never shot before. I haven't once worried about whether or not to take a photo for fear of burning a frame of film on an image that may or may not be something worthwhile. Just think of all of the money I have saved on film and processing. I have saved approximately $2000.00! That's a hefty chunck of change. Here's looking forward to another year of fun photography!

Woot!! Here's to many more years. :)
Posted by: Martie on May 3, 2004 11:17 AMYay for digital! That's exactly what I love about it too. It's ok to take 30 pictures of the same exact thing until it's just right. It's a wonderful thing!

BTW. What program do you use to sort and store all your images? I've been using ACDSee, but it can be slow at times.
Hi Kara,
I use Windows Explorer (copy/paste, cut paste, new folder, rename), to move them around and sort them. My camera is set up so that photos are put into dated folders right on the memory card so sorting by date is easy. I use PhotoShop Elements file browser to look at the thumbnails. I use Nero express to burn them to CDs, which by the way are not an archival means of storage as many people believe. I'll have to look at the ACDSee software you mention.
Peace,
