Today in American History!

April 9th, 1865 is a great day in United States history for all patriotic and freedom loving Americans everywhere. One-hundred thrity-nine years ago today Union General U.S. Grant accepted the surrender of Confederate General Robert E. Lee at Appomattox Court House, VA. HUZZAH!!!

"It would be useless and therefore cruel to provoke the further effusion of blood, and I have arranged to meet with General Grant with a view to surrender," remarked Gen. Lee. What a smart man to finally see the light. Tonight I will toast the success of Union forces over their Confederate foes.

From "Today In History" at the Library of Congress.

"The two generals met shortly after noon on April 9, 1865, at the home of Wilmer McClean in the village of Appomattox Court House, Virginia. Lee's surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia to Ulysses S. Grant, general-in-chief of all United States forces, hastened the conclusion of the Civil War.

In the weeks following, Confederate forces surrendered, and Confederate President Jefferson Davis was captured. On April 14, President Lincoln's name was added to the list of over 1 million Civil War casualties, and the bloody era that began four years earlier in the corn fields of Manassas, Virginia finally was brought to a close."

If you're a Confederate supporter let me tell you now to not bother giving me all of that "Lost Cause" bullshit and that the South could've, should've and would've won if this, that and the other thing happened. Well here's the facts Jack... none of it happened and the South lost and it will not rise again. Get over it.

I will join habid in waving my little American flag. Shame on us to think the war of the States is over. Watch out, the trailer trash is on the offensive, led by General Jerry Springer.
Habid, don't worry about the Engola Gay, worry about the Carnival Cruise ship coming into your country with sick old men looking to violate your women. These men are led by the devil Bush.
Happy Easter feaster.
