So much for being mobile on my own two legs today. Last night I slipped while going up the steps from the basement and I came tumbling down and bent my right knee in a way that a knee isn't supposed to bend. The shooting pain told me it was a bad thing. My knee doesn't hurt... as long as I don't move it. I'm fine if I keep it in one position. Sleep? What's that? If I moved in my sleep the pain in my knee would wake me. As of 8:15 AM I am waiting for the doctor's office to open at 8:30 so I can call in right away and get a first available appointment. I'll undergo a knee exam, but I don't expect they will be able to fix anything, but they can give me drugs. And isn't that why we go to the doctors? To get nice drugs.

Posted by: Martie on October 7, 2003 10:49 AMMy sympathy for your injury... i hope it gets fixed soon. I am one of the few who can really say, 'i feel your pain.' Both of my knees always hurt... result of years doing jazzercize, etc. July 2003 i fell and further injured the left knee which hurts even when the other pains subside. Instead of riding around in an Amigo... letting my muscles atrophy and my butt and belly get even wider i walk... as often as i can. When it's really bad i take a Naproxin prior to the walk, but even then it hurts. Peace.

Ohhh yikes. Well be sure you follow doctor's orders! My dad hurt his knee badly last September after falling from a ladder but he was so stubborn he didn't always wear his leg brace, resulting in him taking longer to heal.
Take care of yourself!

You might remember me telling you about the time the toes of my sneakers got caught in a crack at Westminster High School's wonderful tennis court and brought me down on both knees.....OUCH.... maybe God is telling you to slow down and get some rest!

Hope you're feeling much better soon. That exam didn't sound very nice either ;)
