Getting My Ass Kicked at Manassas

I had a great day today hanging out with Jeff and Becky. They treated me to a nice lunch at a little Italian place called Milano's (thanks guys). It's about a mile from their house in Centerville, VA. Afterwards Jeff and I made it to Manassas Battlefield and we took a nice walk around Henry House Hill. It was overcast and it drizzled while we were there so it was not a great day for photographs, although I did grab a few images. The shot above is of Union artillery batteries on the ridge behind and north of the visitor's center. After our walk we went back home a squeezed in two rounds of the First Manassas scenario of Battle Cry. We each pulled off one win, although Jeff really inflicted the casualties on my rag tag Confederate force in our second round. Nothing like getting my ass kicked in a game to keep me humble. Instead of playing a third game as a tie breaker we let the day's score of one win each stand. I owe him a good ass whomping when next we play. For dinner we headed over to Atami Sushi in Arlington and had a pleasant meal and great conversation. This may surprise many of you, but I did not have a beer with dinner. GASP! I haven't had any more alcohol since Friday night's romp at Honolulu. The sushi at Atami was decent, but not up to par with The Orient in Towson. It was a nice way to end the weekend and bring to a close my ten days home alone. Of course the weekend, as usual, flew by much too quickly. Now it's time to get ready for bed and face another work week at the SLJ.

Hmm, BOTH games were quite bloody. We definately need to play a tie-breaker. Maybe in the morning before an all-day game of Barbarossa.

BTW, thanks for the photos!
