If you haven’t seen BTVS 7th Season yet and you want to be surprised do not read this entry as it contains spoilers. If you really don't care then read on.
I have now seen the entire seventh season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and all in he course of two week’s time and without having to sit through commercials! Last night I had a five-hour butt-numb-a-thon and watched the last six episodes up to and including the series finale. Lots of twists and turns and unexpected surprises. To enjoy my butt-numbing I fixed myself a nice Pita Pizza (pita bread with a little olive oil, liberal amounts of sauce, cheese and mushrooms), poured 22 ounces of Sapporo beer, and turned the lights down and the volume up. I really enjoyed the 7th season and it helped tremendously not knowing what was coming. It also helped tremendously that Jenne was not home and standing over me the whole time saying things like, “have they talked about The First Evil yet? Has Xander lost an eye yet? Did Willow’s hair go white yet? I know why The First is here. Do you want me to tell you? It has to do with…” “WOMAN, BE QUIET AND TRIFLE WITH ME NO LONGER!” There was a night about a week ago when I thought our marriage would end. Larry why did you tell her anything? She can never hold it in. It's a good thing that I love her. To all of my friends who watched 7th Season while it aired I thank you for respecting my wishes and not talking to me about it. I give big props to David V. and Larry D. who kept quiet the whole time. I know it must have been killing you guys. Extra props to Larry for loaning me his tapes! To those bloggers out there who wrote about it and did not give spoiler warnings I don't wanna talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper! I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries! Well it’s over and what a cool way to end it. Xander looses an eye. I never saw that coming and I could have done without seeing it over and over in each week’s recap. It was pretty disgusting. Willow unleashes her powers to release the power of an ancient mystical scythe that only the Slayer could wield (sounds like Excalibur). This energy went around the world to all the girls who possessed the potential to be Slayers. This created an army of Slayers. Willow not being consumed by her powers and turning into White Willow. Anya killed in the big battle (not that I care much as she was really getting annoying). Lesbian love scenes (Willow's girlfriend has a pierced tongue). Interracial love scenes (my dad would of turned the TV right off and went off the deep end). Spike becoming the tragic hero who sacrifices himself to save the woman he loves and the world (didn’t see that coming either). Sunnydale and the Hellmouth destroyed and now nothing more than a smoldering crater. I wasn’t expecting the town to be wiped from the face of the earth. So much more happened, but those are the major points. It was a great ride and my butt is still numb.
I just found out that 4th Season is released on DVD TODAY!! I still need to pick up 3rd Season. I see more BNATs in the future.
Sorry about telling Jenne all the spoiler info. I thought she would just keep it to herself instead of taunting you with it. But glad you enjoyed the finale in peace. Did you know that Spike will be a regular on Angel next season? (Even with the changes, I don't plan on watching that show.)
Posted by: Larry D on June 11, 2003 07:57 AMhey, I aint mad at you for telling Jenne so don't fret it. Spike on Angel?? WTF! I just saw Spike burn to a crispy critter in the season finale of Buffy. It was a good death. A tragic hero death. A redeeming death. Can't they just let a character rest in piece? Man that's just wrong.
