JTU 6 and Sunday, Lazy Sunday

JTU 6. Jenne arrived in Ignace at 4:00 a.m. EST. They did drive the 1200 miles non-stop. She’s having a great time and there is much card playing and socializing going on.

For me it was a lazy Sunday. It didn’t rain today, but it was overcast and that wasn’t going to make for good battlefield photos so I did not go touring Civil War battlefields as I originally hoped. I did go and have breakfast with God at 9:30 am. Normally I go at 11:00, but I was up and thought, hey, go to the early service and have the better part of the day free to do… whatever. About noon my long time friend, Tom called and offered to come over and hang out. That’s cool, always good to see Tom. He and I go way back to when I was a high school freshman. So Tom came over and we hung out and generally had a good time. We watched some TV, a couple of DVDs, listened to some music, surfed the web, and solved absolutely none of the world’s problems. He split around 6:30 and then Dan & Laureen (our neighbors) called and invited me for dinner. SCHWEET! I wouldn’t be eating cereal for Sunday dinner after all. Umm burgers on the grill and Sapporo beer sure beats a bowl of honey nut Cheerios and Sapporo beer. Spent some time playing with their son, Dylan and his Star Wars toys. Now it’s home, finish up a little laundry, watch some TV, and then off to bed. I have to admit that right now I’m kind of enjoying this having the house to myself thing. I get to watch what I want on TV when I want. There’s the joy of knowing that if I don’t make the bed it’s not a big deal. I would say that because Jenne is away that it’s cool to run around the house in my underwear or naked, but I do that when Jenne is home so that’s nothing new. The cats seem to be dealing okay, but I have noticed that they have become more talkative and a bit more demanding of affection. Poe normally doesn’t sleep in the bed, but he has every night since Jenne has been gone. It’s nice to have the home to myself for a few days. Come the middle of the week I probably won’t be digging it as much, but for now it’s cool. Well I’m gonna go plop my ass down in front of the TV for a while and then head off to bed. Tomorrow starts another glorious workweek at my SLJ.
