The Symptoms Strike Back

I haven’t mentioned anything about my ACM in a few weeks mainly because there hasn’t been anything to say about it since the massage on March 13. I went a solid three weeks being pain free and without any symptoms. I’d call that a major success and a gold star in the column of complimentary and alternative medicine (CAM)! Late last week some symptoms returned. Nothing major. Mostly level three headaches, and shoulder pain with mild spasms. I did have one level four headache on Saturday and a few scattered focal point headaches. A focal point headache is one that is very localized and usually brief, but generally pretty painful, sometimes enough to make you sit down or lean into a wall grabbing your head. I liken it to being hit in the head with a ball peen hammer. Typically it's a small hammer used by jewelers and craftsmen. Bang, bang, Maxwell’s silver hammer came down upon his head! I have to admit that when these headaches hit it has come to my mind that this time it’s an aneurysm or a tumor (it is NOT a tumor) and, “this is it, the end. Lights out.” Obviously it hasn’t happened. Yes, it is a fatalistic way to think, but it’s scary sometimes and these thoughts do come to mind. Well with the symptoms striking back I am going to respond by getting another Naturopathic ("nay-chur-o-PATH-ic") medical treatment (AKA massage) tonight! I am so looking forward to it.
