It’s psychology day here at the old web page. Thanks to Geren and a post on his page I used one of my ‘smoke’ breaks to take an abbreviated form of the Myers-Briggs and Keirsey personality type indicator test. I've taken this test about a hundred and twenty times and it keeps getting funnier every single time I take it! Not to mention the fact that you're talking to an extravert! So what do you think? Do you think I'm qualified (or is that certifiable?) Do you think I’ve watched the movie Beetlejuice just one too many times? The test didn’t tell me anything it hasn’t told me before. Here’s the scoop and another label. I’m an ENFP and in a big way too. My ratings land me pretty firmly to one side. What is an ENFP? It means that I’m an Extravert and that I have 75% more Vert! What in the hell is Vert? I’m also iNtuitive, Feeling and Perceiving. Here are the ‘official’ results.
Your personality type is ENFP.
Extraverted (E) 75% Introverted (I) 25%
Intuitive (N) 59% Sensing (S) 41%
Feeling (F) 85% Thinking (T) 15%
Perceiving (P) 86% Judging (J) 14%
Here are the suggested/recommended career paths for the ENFP:
1. Consultant (I consult with people all the time. I tell them where to go)
2. Psychologist (I need a psychologist more than I want to be one. Although, I could prescribe myself some nice drugs. Hmm)
3. Entrepreneur (I always did want to run a porno web site. SHUT UP Geren! My site idea is secret.)
4. Actor (the last acting I did was in a high school play. Actually I was student director)
5. Teacher (I was on this path, but decided that I didn't want to work 60+ hours a week for less pay than I make now to babysit. Summers off! Yeah, right)
6. Counselor (what at Camp Krusty?)
7. Politician/Diplomat (me as a politician? Oh it is to laugh. That's rich, I'll say)
8. Writer/Journalist (I have this web site don't I. Journalist for Mad Magazine maybe)
9. Television Reporter (maybe on FOX)
10. Computer Programmer, Systems Analyst, or Computer Specialist (this is where I was until the IT bubble burst two years ago. This is also where I'm trying to go back to. Jay, are you reading this?)
11. Scientist (like Professor Frink on The Simpsons with the flubber, Mm-hey, glaven!).
12. Engineer (not on a train damn it! NOOOOO!)
You can take the test youself here. Learn all about the different types here and see what career choices are best for each type here. Oh and you can see what kind of friend and lover I am HERE. Have fun and if you take the test please post your results in the comments section to this entry.
86% more vert here...only introvert, not extarvert
77% intuitive
100% feeling ( apparently, this confirms what a number of people have accused me of: not thinking anything at all!!)
68% Perceiveing
I've taken this test a few times and kept getting further along to the extremes until I was in college ( as an adult student over 21) since then I have been the same old weirdo. When I took this in a class I learned that my personality type comprises about 1% of the population. I was overjoyed! For years I was sure I was from another planet!! The idea that 1% of 6 billion people were like me suddenly made me feel like I had lots of company!
Here ya go...
Your (my) personality type is INFJ.
Introverted (I) 54% Extraverted (E) 46%
Intuitive (N) 55% Sensing (S) 45%
Feeling (F) 65% Thinking (T) 35%
Judging (J) 59% Perceiving (P) 41%
Well, I read the page describing the INFJ, not too bad. I picked so many of the I feel (in between) both ways options. I think almost all of the questions are situational and I'm sure i've reacted in every one of those ways at some situation or other. Which in its self might say a lot.
Martin Luther King, Jr
Piers Anthony
"Jimmy" Carter
and Goethe, not bad company.
Unsurprisingly, I turned up INTJ. See my own analysis here
